Madison Garden Room by Nordic FAQ — Everything You Need to Know
Is this insulated enough to use year-round?
Much more so than a standard glass or polycarbonate greenhouse. The Madison's walls are a 28mm insulated composite panel (aluminum face sheets over a polystyrene core) with a U-value of 1.05 W/m²K, and the windows/doors use double-pane insulated Low-E glass — built as a genuine garden room, not just a season-extender.
What's it actually used for?
Think home office, studio, gym, or a year-round entertaining space rather than plant growing — it's built and insulated more like a small insulated cabin with glass walls than a traditional greenhouse.
Does it come with flooring?
Yes — a Nordic ECO base and Montreal vinyl floor are both included standard, so you're not sourcing flooring separately.
What's the roof made of?
A 25mm multiwall polycarbonate \"Heatshield\" panel roof with aluminum capping and a built-in gutter and downpipe system to manage rainwater.
Do I need a permit?
A structure this size and permanence often requires a permit depending on your city or county — check with your local building department before installing.
