Western Red Cedar naturally resists rot, decay, and insects without chemical treatment, and it insulates noticeably better than a bare aluminum frame — roughly an R-1.35 rating versus R-.95 for single-pane glass, so a cedar-framed greenhouse holds heat more evenly through cold snaps.
