The Riga Greenhouse — German-Engineered for Four-Season Growing
The Riga is designed, engineered and manufactured in Germany by Hoklartherm, a leading European maker of commercial and hobby greenhouses, sunrooms and pavilions. Its distinctive curved "onion" shape isn't just good-looking — it sheds snow and deflects wind, and with more window and door ventilation than most greenhouses in its class, it's built for serious growing all year long.

Available in six sizes from 54 to 165 sq. ft. — narrow models (Riga 2S, 3S, 4S, 7'8" wide) and wide models (Riga 3, 4, 5, 9'8" wide). See the Sizes/Specs tab for full dimensions, doors and windows.
Built for Strength
-
Reinforced 13-gauge aluminum framing — extremely heavy-duty construction with custom high-strength profiles.
-
Profiles permanently joined to each other, so the frame won't loosen over time from wind pressure — and load-bearing profiles run continuously, with no weak points.
-
Curved, sloped walls shed snow naturally and reduce wind resistance.
-
Rated for a 30 PSF ground snow load and engineered for high winds.
-
Stainless steel hardware that resists corrosion for lasting reliability.
-
Heavy-duty Dutch barn door with keyed lock, an oversized rear window, and automatic roof vent openers.
Superior Glazing & Insulation
The Riga uses German-made, UV-protected twin-wall polycarbonate — 8mm on the main body and 10mm on the front and back walls for extra strength — compared with the 4mm panels found on many hobby greenhouses. Thicker glazing means more consistent interior temperatures, lower heating costs and real year-round growing in colder climates (insulation R-value 2.0).

FAQ
Narrow or wide model?
The narrow Riga S models (7'8" wide, 7'1" peak) fit tighter yards; the wide models (9'8" wide, 7'7" peak) give more headroom and room for benches on both sides. We usually recommend going one size bigger than you planned.
Do I need a foundation?
Yes — the Riga must be anchored to a level, solid foundation. A concrete slab, concrete piers or a treated timber base all work, and the greenhouse can be anchored directly to them. The optional Riga foundation frame (sold separately) is recommended if you're setting it on pavers, gravel or ground that isn't perfectly level and square.
Do I need a permit?
Often, since this is a permanent structure — requirements vary by town, so check with your local building department before you order.
