The Skyview brings a preinstalled 8-foot skylight dormer and front window to Alpine Structures' panelized shed lineup, Amish-built in Dundee, Ohio and flexible enough for storage, a workshop, or a backyard studio. Available from 8'x12' to 10'x20', rated for 105 mph winds and backed by a 10-year structural warranty.

  • Preinstalled 8-foot skylight dormer with transom window — the line's signature feature, for natural light without losing privacy
  • Preinstalled 24"x36" front window with bar shutters
  • 7/16" primed LP SmartSide siding (Zinc Borate-treated) in panelized 4-ft wall sections
  • 8/12 roof pitch (steeper than the rest of the lineup) with a published 105 mph wind rating
  • 60" double doors with USA-made lockset plus a 30" single side door with its own lockset
  • 6' sidewalls standard, upgradeable to 6'6", 7', or 8'

The only Alpine Structures line built for flex-use — storage, workshop, office, or rec room — thanks to the dormer's natural light.

  • 8' x 12', 10' x 12', 10' x 16', 10' x 20' — the full size range for this line
  • Floor kit not available on 10'x20' (shipping weight restriction)

Skyview Shed Kit FAQ

What's actually included in the kit — and what do I still need to buy?
Included in the box:

  • Panelized 4-ft wall sections with siding pre-attached
  • Pre-hung doors, rafters, and OSB roof sheathing
  • 6" fascia trim, hardware/fasteners, decorative shutters + hinges
  • USA-made locksets and detailed assembly instructions
  • Preinstalled 8-foot skylight dormer with transom window
  • Preinstalled 24"x36" front window with bar shutters
You'll still need to source:
  • Paint (siding ships primed, not painted)
  • Shingles or metal roofing
  • Floor kit (sold separately as an add-on)
  • Foundation/site-prep materials

How is a panelized kit different, and how long does assembly take?
Alpine Structures ships this as a panelized kit — the walls arrive as pre-built 4-ft sections with the siding already attached, so there's no cutting or measuring lumber. Real-world builder reports put a comparable panelized Amish-built kit at around 12 hours spread over 2 days on an 8x10-class panelized kit for two people; assembling solo is possible but not recommended.

Do I need a permit?
Sometimes — it depends on your local jurisdiction, not on Alpine Structures. Many municipalities exempt small accessory structures under roughly 100-120 sq ft from permitting, but larger sizes in this lineup sometimes do (the 10'x20' are the ones most likely to need one) — check with your local building department and, if you're in an HOA, with your HOA separately before ordering.

What's the warranty, and how do I make a claim?
Backed by Alpine Structures' 10-year limited structural warranty (non-transferable, original purchaser only) plus the manufacturer component warranties: LP SmartSide siding 50-year limited, LP ProStruct flooring 10-year limited, Weyerhaeuser OSB sheathing limited, CertainTeed shingles limited (shingles sold separately). To keep coverage valid, paint the siding with 100% acrylic latex exterior paint within 60 days of assembly, maintain ground clearance, and assemble within a year of delivery. To file a claim, contact Alpine Structures directly with your order details and photos of the issue.
