Bordeaux Door Awning FAQ

What does this actually mount to?
An anchor kit for brick, block, or concrete walls ships standard. For wood siding, vinyl siding, board-and-batten, or mobile-home walls, the frame is compatible but you'll need to source screws/anchors matched to that wall type yourself — the kit doesn't include every fastener for every surface. For board-and-batten in particular, seal the mounting points well to prevent water seepage behind the panel.

How much wind and snow can it handle?
Rated to 75 mph winds and 25 lb/sq ft of snow load — Bordeaux's extra-wide coverage is built to shed accumulated snow along its full run.

Do I need a permit?
Requirements vary by municipality. Most residential door awnings don't require a permit since they attach to an existing wall rather than the foundation, but larger units and anything projecting far over a walkway or driveway sometimes do (longer Bordeaux runs, especially 20 feet and up, are the ones most likely to need one) — check with your local building department before installing.

What's the warranty, and how do I file a claim?
Backed by a 3-year limited warranty. If you ever need to make a claim, contact us with your order number and photos of the issue and we'll coordinate directly with Canopia on your behalf.
