The Amsterdam Door Awning shares Herald's aluminum frame and grey powder-coated galvanized-steel support arms but steps up to a fully clear 3mm solid acrylic roof panel for a glass-like look with 90% light transmission. Rated to 75 mph winds and 25 lb/sq ft of snow, with a 3-year warranty.

Same aluminum frame and grey powder-coated galvanized-steel support arms as our Herald line, upgraded to a fully clear 3mm solid acrylic roof panel (90% light transmission) instead of diffused polycarbonate.

Rated to 75 mph winds and 25 lb/sq ft of snow load.

3-year limited warranty.

Choose Amsterdam over Herald if you want a glass-like clear view through the panel rather than a softened, frosted look.

Amsterdam Door Awning FAQ

What does this actually mount to?
An anchor kit for brick, block, or concrete walls ships standard. For wood siding, vinyl siding, board-and-batten, or mobile-home walls, the frame is compatible but you'll need to source screws/anchors matched to that wall type yourself — the kit doesn't include every fastener for every surface. For board-and-batten in particular, seal the mounting points well to prevent water seepage behind the panel.

How much wind and snow can it handle?
Rated to 75 mph winds and 25 lb/sq ft of snow load — identical structural rating to Herald; the two differ in panel material and clarity, not strength.

Do I need a permit?
Requirements vary by municipality. Most residential door awnings don't require a permit since they attach to an existing wall rather than the foundation, but larger units and anything projecting far over a walkway or driveway sometimes do (longer Amsterdam runs, especially 20 feet and up, are the ones most likely to need one) — check with your local building department before installing.

What's the warranty, and how do I file a claim?
Backed by a 3-year limited warranty with US-based customer support. If you ever need to make a claim, contact us with your order number and photos of the issue and we'll coordinate directly with Canopia on your behalf.
