OLT 12'x4' Cedar Lean-To Shed with Sliding Doors - SpaceSaver or GardenSaver, Cedar or Metal Roof - SpaceSaver (tall back wall) / Cedar Shingle
12x4 Sliding Door Lean-To Shed FAQ
SpaceSaver or GardenSaver: which should I pick?
Both are the same 12'x4' cedar shed. SpaceSaver has the tall 96" wall at the back, so it sits cleanly against a house or fence and rain runs off the front. GardenSaver has the tall wall at the front, for more headroom at the doors and a tall front wall for hanging bikes.
Why sliding doors?
They open a full 60" without swinging out, so you can put the shed along a walkway, deck or narrow side yard.
What fits inside?
About 279 cu. ft. on a 136½" × 41½" interior floor: bikes, lawn tools, a push mower, pool and patio gear.
Cedar or metal roof?
Cedar shingles match the siding. The 26-gauge Galvalume metal roof sheds snow easily and costs a little less.
What base do I need?
A level foundation such as pavers, a framed gravel pad or a concrete slab, slightly larger than the 141½" × 45½" footprint.
Do I need a permit?
That depends on your town and HOA. At about 48 sq. ft. it is under the size many towns exempt, but check with your local building department first.
