The Sydney Single Carport is a 10x20 cantilever carport that covers one vehicle with just two support posts — no center posts blocking either side, so you get full, clear access to doors, trunk, and tailgate.

Lightweight and weather-ready. A rust-resistant powder-coated aluminum frame with laser-cut galvanized steel connectors holds a solid solar-gray polycarbonate roof that blocks 100% of UV rays. Rated to 75 mph winds and 13.3 lb/ft² snow load, with a 10-year limited warranty. At about 490 lb total, it's one of the easier Canopia carports to put up.

Clearance. The sloped roof runs from 6'3" on the low side to 9'5" at the peak — park taller trucks and SUVs toward the high side. The kit bolts to a concrete pad or footings. Prefer not to build it yourself? We can coordinate your installer for you.

Sydney Single Carport by Canopia FAQ — Everything You Need to Know

Will My Vehicle Actually Fit?

Most cars, trucks, and SUVs:

The Sydney Single's height ramps from 6'3" on the low cantilever side up to 9'5" at the peak — so where you park under it changes your real clearance. Pull in toward the taller side for a truck, SUV, or anything with a roof rack, and measure against the 6'3" figure if you plan to use the full 20-ft depth including the low end.

FAQ

What do the wind and snow ratings actually mean?

The Sydney Single is rated to sustained winds up to 75 mph and a snow load of 13.3 lb/ft², per Canopia's own published spec sheet. Always anchor per the included instructions and clear heavy snow buildup promptly in snow-heavy regions.

Why does the clearance height vary from 6'3" to 9'5"?

The cantilever design has a single low-to-high slope rather than a flat roof — it's what allows the open, no-center-post structure. Park toward the taller end for anything over 6'3", and use the lower end for storage, a smaller vehicle, or equipment rather than a tall truck.

What can I anchor this to, and what surface prep do I need?

All Canopia carports bolt down through footings or a poured concrete pad — concrete is the manufacturer-recommended surface. A compacted paver base or an existing patio slab can work if it's level and thick enough to hold anchor bolts securely, but loose gravel, grass, or dirt alone is not a substitute; frost-heave in cold climates can also shift an under-prepped foundation over time. If you're not sure your existing surface will hold anchors properly, call or text us and we can help you think through pad size and prep before you order.

Do I need a permit to install this?

Most municipalities require a permit for a permanent carport structure, and requirements vary widely by town — setback from property lines, wind/snow load documentation, and sometimes a foundation inspection. Check with your local building department before you install; we're happy to provide the manufacturer's engineering/spec sheet if your permit office asks for one.

What's covered under the warranty, and how do I file a claim?

A 10-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in the frame and panels. Keep your proof of purchase — if you ever need to file a claim, call or text us at 732-806-7959 and we'll walk you through the process directly rather than routing you through a manufacturer call center.

Who makes Canopia carports?

Canopia is the outdoor-structures brand of Palram, which has manufactured polycarbonate and thermoplastic building products since 1963 — over 60 years — with production facilities across Israel, the U.S., England, Germany, China, and Russia. Their outdoor structure line is engineered for durability and easy DIY assembly.
